Using The Remote Installer/Upgrader
Step One:
To get to the remote installer you will need to visit one of the following links. If you are not a BannerView.com customer and do not have an active subscription for BannerMailer then Click Here to install BannerMailer. If you are a BannerView.com customer and have an active subscription for BannerMailer then Click Here to install BannerMailer.
Step Two:
Once you have found the remote installer you will need to enter information about the location you would like to install BannerMailer. The first field ask for domain, this is the domain name were BannerMailer will be installed.
Step Three:
Next you will need to enter your SSH or FTP username & password for the server were you would like to install BannerMailer. This information is need to connect to your server and move the appropiate files to your server. If you do not know this information please contact your web administrator.
* Use SSh for a faster & more reliable installation.
** If an SSH installation fails, the remote installer will attempt an FTP installation with the same username & password.
Step Four:
The next step is to verify that the port you are connecting on is correct. This field is required for SSH installations only. The default port is 22, if your server connects via SSH on a different port you must enter that now, or the installation will not connect via SSH.
Step Five:
Next you must enter information about the path of install. The first field Web Root is the root to your publicly accessible files. Most servers use public_html as the root, if you are on a windows machine this might be different ('httpdocs' or 'httpsdocs'). If you are unsure of your servers web root please contact your web administrator.
Step Six:
The second field will be the location desired to install BannerMailer. This defaults as newsletter.
* Ex. if newsletter is install directory then to access your copy of BannerMail you would go to http://www.yourdomain.com/newsletter/
Step Seven:
The last step is to choose what action you would like to perform. For first time users or users wishing to create a new copy of BannerMailer choose New Installation. For upgrades choose Upgrade Existing.
* NMS 5 users must perform a new install before trying to upgrade. For more information on how to upgrade from NMS 5.0 click here.
** If you install a new copy of BannerMailer your old copy can no longer be licensed and will resume demo mode.
Step Eight:
Now you can submit this form. Once the page has loaded thhe remote installer will begin installing BannerMailer on your domain.
* Please wait for install to complete before closing window. Install times may vary but should range from 1-3 Minutes via SSH & 3-7 Minutes via FTP.
Step Nine:
Once the process is complete the results will be viewable by clicking show details. If the install was successful click the setup link to setup your installation of BannerMailer. If the install has failed please try a manual install or manual upgrade.
