The Fall Series Begins...
September 14 Website Fundamentals 101: A New Semester with CEUs

This workshop, which has been a big crowd pleaser, and which we have run several times, is a synopsis of the three in-depth workshops. The first being about building a website for search engine optimization and how to leverage social media into that mix. This is always a popular discourse. The core topics are: 1. The importance of keywords and having content that is “relevant” to your business; 2. Their strategic placement on a web page so that the search engines understand who you are and where on the page to look to access that information. These first steps set the stage for getting your website ranked and ranked well on the search engines. Next is keeping your content fresh and current. Such tools as blogs and newsletters are effective mechanisms. Add to the mix using social media. The interactivity between your website and social media enhances keeping content fresh and current. When the content on your site is current, the search engines like to visit you, which in turn increases your rankings. Increased rankings spell higher qualified traffic to your site, which in turn, heightens your business prospects and revenue opportunities. The next in-depth workshop covering this subject: “SEO Strategies that Positively Impact your Bottom Line Including How to Leverage Social Media to your Advantage.” is October 12.

The second excerpt of the series is about website functionality...and it has nothing to do with mechanics and everything to do with strategic thinking. The functioning of your website is only as good as your business strategy for it. Our Edutainment teacher will get the group thinking about perceived notions of what a website can do for a business and will highlight what more it can do. There is a plethora of website functioning capabilities available today which wasn't available five years ago. Defining your value proposition for your target audience and what calls to action you need to apply, are critical to the functioning of your site. The full course, “When to recognize that your Business Needs are Out Pacing the Functions of your Website,” will take place on November 9. It was very well received when we ran it on July 13, read about it here:

The third overview will focus on Cloud Computing and it has proven to be an animated session! Cloud Computing is the next big thing on the Internet. It can change the computing industry as we know it. Cloud Computing enables a user the ability to conduct computing using the Internet and its network to perform computing functions instead of having an on-site computer. There are a host of cost and time-saving efficiencies associated with the Cloud model as well as some risks. There are security vulnerabilities that go with this technology which always gets our group talking. Our next session on “How Cloud Computing Capabilities Can Save you Time and Money,” will be held on December 7. Sign up early as we always get a full house!
