Wonder Is Wonderful

I wonder what the next big move in my business will be. I wonder what challenges in life lie ahead. I wonder what the next technology fad will be. I wonder how many people will read this blog. It's the wonders in life that make it so wonderful!

After more than twelve years of business, there's never a dull moment. Not only does our own business have something exciting waiting around every turn, every new customer we bring on includes a new set of wonders. New ideas and reinvented old ideas keep our business interesting, but it's the wonder of what's to come next that makes it wonderful. I've noticed that when I get caught up in the down stream of the day to day activities, that's when I start to lose my motivation. Don't get me wrong, I love working through a to-do list more than most should, but that's more of a determination and sense of accomplishment, not a sense of wonder. It's the sense of wonder that inspires and motivates me, ultimately making me want to keep going.

As I find myself right smack in the middle of the most progressive phase in my personal life, there's certainly no shortage of wonder, which is what makes it so exciting! I wonder what the next improvement is that I can make to my new home. I wonder what my puppy will try to destroy next. I wonder what my wife and I still have to look forward to in our marriage. Now, I wonder what kind of a parent I will be and what "life lessons" I'll try to instill in my children.
