Web Site Optimization

web site promotionsYou have a great looking Web site, but nobody is visiting. Unfortunately, most freelance Web designers do not concentrate on driving traffic to your Web site. Certain elements need to be in place in order to have the search engines locate and index your Web site. Once in place, your Web site can take its place among the many other Web sites throughout the Internet.

What is involved with Web Site Optimization
Web site optimization involves two interacting facets: the content that your visitors will see and the content that only the search engines will see.

Metadata and Code are two elements that only the search engines will see. The metadata is content added to an individual Web page that provides a description to the search engines of what content that page contains. Think of metadata as a synopsis of the content already on that page. Code, on the other hand, determines how that page will display and function within a Web browser. Faulty coding negatively affects Web site performance, as well as positioning among the search engines.

The content visible to your visitors plays a huge part in achieving better visibility. The more content available, the more value attributed to that Web page by the search engines. Your Web site's metadata, code and written content combined provide a foundation for better Web site optimization.

Features:

  • Starting with the metadata (the title tag, description tag and keyword tag), each page within the Web site will receive content written specifically for the metadata tags.

  • Existing written content will be analyzed for search engine friendlinessť. Basic content editing may be performed, unless it is determined that the task requires much more involvement than we can provide. Image optimization will also be examined.

  • Functionality of the Web site will be reviewed, including all internal hyperlinks, navigation buttons and dynamic functions. If not already in place, an html sitemap will be constructed to index all pages within the Web site. An xml sitemap may also be developed if it is determined to be an effective option.

  • As a final step, the Web site will be tested for W3C compliancy to insure coding practices employed within the Web site pass all standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium. Performance within all the currently popular Web browsers will also be tested as well.

Web Site Promotion

To increase the likelihood that your Web site will be more readily exposed to the online community, our Web Site Promotion provides an essential focus on promoting your Web site:

Features:

  • Your Web site is submitted to both major and lesser known search engines, as well as industry specific search directories.

  • Built-in submission safeguards reduce any possibility of the search engines mistaking your Web site as an attempt at spam.

  • Within an amount of time determined by the search engines, your Web site should start to appear within the search engine results.

E-Business Web Site Evaluation

To further promote excellence within the online community, our evaluation process will thoroughly examine your existing Web site to determine areas of improvement in visual presentation, performance and standard online business practices:

Features:

  • Visually, your Web site is an online extension of your business. How you are perceived depends on how you present. Aspects such as color, layout, navigation and written content play a huge part in successful online businesses. We'll look at brand consistency, color complement and image quality to assess how well each supports your company vision and/or message.

  • Functionality and performance play an equal part in the success of a Web site. Slow loading, inaccessible pages within a Web site can quickly kill an online business. We'll test navigation, forms, applications, shopping carts and any other dynamic elements within multiple Web browsers to determine any need to modify non-functioning code.

  • The Internet has been around long enough to have developed acceptable online business practices. Implementing and maintaining these practices can lead to better customer satisfaction and help promote brand awareness. Current promotional tactics such as social networks, blogs, and press releases, as well as paid advertising strategies such as Adwords and Overture will be outlined in the evaluation.

*Although Web Optimization and Web Site Submission are valuable tools in promoting your Web site and online business, it does not automatically guarantee immediate placement among the search engines.
