The Future is Bright

In case you haven't heard yet... I'M GETTING MARRIED at the end of this month! And to make things a little more interesting, we're moving into a new home the day before! I've gotten a lot of response about how stressed out I must be and that I must be crazy. While the latter may have some merit, I haven't really felt the stress so much, but rather the motivation toward the dreams of the future. The end of this month marks our five year anniversary and even though there has been comfort and consistency in our lives, there's nothing like a wedding and a new home to make it really settle in to give us a jump start toward the future.

It's about here that I go on and on about how your professional life and personal life are intertwined, and that your successes or failures in one or the other can deeply impact each other. Well when it comes to my upcoming wedding, this still remains true. The successes of the business have allowed me to make great relationships that span outside of the work place. Great friends/clients have afforded me the comfort and stress-free environment that I need to make this important step by allowing me to use their venues and services without much worry at all! We'll be having our ceremony at Graceland Wedding Chapel, who is also handling our flowers, our reception at DW Bistro and our tuxes from Renta-Dress and Tux Shop. Also, through my fiance's channels, our wedding cake will be from Freed's Bakery. Each of these companies have owners that care about us, as we care about them, plus they are all connections through our professional lives.

Naturally I feel the need to plug these companies because without them, I can honestly say that this wedding wouldn't have happened.... at least not now. As mentioned in a previous blog, I acted boldly to make both a wedding and a new home happen in a short amount of time. As much as I'd like to think I could have made it all happen on my own, that's just not realistic. I put it out there that this is what we wanted and both personal AND professional relationships presented themselves to help get the job done.
