Adding Product Types to New Products

Note: You cannot add product types to exsiting products. You must create a new product.

  1. Log into BannerOS.
  2. Click on "Grips" in the top navigation and choose "BannerMerchant" from the drop down menu.
  3. Click on "Products & Inventory" in the top navigation and choose "Add New" from the drop down menu.
  4. Fill out all the fields like normal, the only difference is in the "Product Type" section. You will choose the product type for the "Product Type" field.
  5. In the "Product Type Fields" section that comes up, choose the fields that are relevant for the product. If it's more than one, you can use SHIFT+click to select more fields.
  6. Click the "Continue" button.
  7. On the next page, under the "Product Type" section, check the "Selectable" checkbox for the options you would like your customers to choose from. Select the options that are available for the product, again you can choose more that one by doing SHIFT+click. If you do not check the "Selectable" checkbox, the field will have a static or default option.
  8. Click the "Continue" button.
  9. Verify that the information is correct and click the "Save" button.
  10. Go to your product in BannerMerchant.
  11. Under the "Product Item Number" section, you will need to click the "Add" button next to each product item to add it to the store. Remember that each product item needs to have a unique item number.
