Sometimes it's difficult to remember what a wonderful and amazing world we truly live in. It seems there's never a shortage of doom and gloom being reported, or naysayers suggesting to us what we can and can't do. Let's also not leave out the rants and negativity that are spewed all over social media. It seems like for every positive message that people share, there are 5 negative ones to drown them out. What's important to remember is that we ultimately have the choice of what we want to surround ourselves with, if only we choose to seek it out.

Having run a business for more than 14 years, there's no doubt we have seen our share of challenges encountered by some of our clients, as well as within our own organization. It appears that those who remain successful are the ones that don't get down on a bad economy or a lost contract, but rather continue to pursue another adventure that will help them sustain these types of events. There are certainly some circumstances that cannot be overcome, but it's how we move forward that will determine our potential to be successful again. There aren't many successful people out there that can't readily tell you about a failure they've had to overcome, further supporting that if we continue to seek new adventures we can still achieve many great things.

Every day I get to watch my daughters (and my dog) carry on each day without a care in the world! They have no idea about the political battles that are going on every day, there's no social media for them to constantly know how mad everyone is for one thing or another, and there's nothing in their minds that they can't achieve. In their case, they don't need to seek out new adventures as every day is a new adventure; but for us we need to learn how to filter through the chaos. We need to seek out positive news sources where we can stay in the loop with what's going on in the world without constantly being told it's going to end. We need to learn to "unfriend" some of our social media connections that don't contribute positively to our lives. We need to forget about what everyone tells us we can't do and continue to pursue our dreams.

Here's the Point:

This wonderful world of ours has a lot of beauty, charm and adventure to offer as long as we choose to seek it out. Give some good, hard thought to what it is you want out of life and start making decisions that will help get you there.
