Spring Into Action! Tips to Spring Clean Your Business

Many of us made New Year’s Resolutions for this year. Did it kind of go by the wayside? Listen, Spring is not only a great time for cleaning your home and attending beach parties. It is also a time of renewal, not to mention the end of the first quarter of the year. Why not take advantage of this time to assess your business. Use this as an opportunity to make some positive changes. Why not start with your website!

Make sure all your links and navigation are working, your calendar is up to date and your contact information is easily accessible. Bonus points for featuring a call to action on the home page! If your website is lacking any of these things, now is the time to clean up and spruce up your website. A few tweaks can make a huge impact, both on generating leads and for running your business more productively.

Make sure your office or workspace is clutter free and organized. A clean, well kept space has proven to be much more productive than working in chaos. While there are the rare few that are successfully working in chaos, chances are they have forgotten an important meeting or phone call. Don't let that be you. Missed opportunities are a loss for your business. Now is a great time to purge any unneeded documents in your file cabinets and on your computer screen. You should also take time to file all documents you need to keep for easy access.

Review your goals. Take a look at both your short and long term goals. They should be written down somewhere (hand written is better than digital). If you haven't done so, do it now! You might find that you’ve met some goals already or may need to make some minor changes. It’s ok for goals to shift as the year progresses. Life doesn't happen in a straight line. Neither will reaching your goals.

Speaking of websites and reviewing where you stand in terms of meeting your goals. Are you analyzing visits your website? If you have comprehensive, easy to use website statistics available, then viewing the stats of your website is a great way to gauge where you stand business-wise.
