If you’re on the fence about whether or not your company needs a website (even if you think your business can’t benefit from one), there are still numerous uses for your company besides being a “brochure site.” Half of all small businesses currently do not have a website.


This is likely to change as it is well known that most people (even you) are using the internet, particularly on mobile devices to search for goods and services. Still unsure? Here are 3 ways you will begin to immediately benefit from launching your shiny new website.


Provide credibility

With 3.5 billion google searches done per day, people expect that a professionally run business to have a website. Nearly 70% of consumers use a company’s website to determine the credibility of the business. People feel more comfortable doing business with people they “know.” Your website can include details about your history, what you offer and your overall mission statement.


This bit of information can allow people to feel more comfortable with you rather than a company they have no information on. Small details like adding your web address to you company business cards, mailings and letterheads will show current and potential customers where to go to find answers about your company as well as where to direct referrals who may also be looking for what your business offers.


Increase visibility
Currently, only about half of small businesses have a working website and yet 97% of consumers search online for goods and services. This means upon launching your website, you have now greatly increased your market visibility. You have now increased the chance of many more potential customers finding what your business is offering.


If one out of two businesses are not on the internet, why not give yourself an edge over the competition with a professionally built website you can afford? A well built, informative website with a call to action will attract many people who may never have heard of your business otherwise.


Generate Leads
You can immediately generate leads with a simple, appealing call to action. Whether it be sign up for your newsletter, coupon offers or get a free estimate, you can gather information like address, email and phone number that you can use when distributing marketing pieces in the future.


Not every lead will immediately convert to a new customer, but you begin to grow a data base of consumers who were interested in you that can lead to future sales and/or referrals.


While it is true your business won’t see extreme increases overnight just by adding a website, you will still see measurable benefits from the beginning. Building a website in the ever growing internet age is smart business.
