BannerDate: Create & Modify Event Categories

Event categories are groups of related events which are displayed together on a calendar. All events must belong to a category. BannerDate comes pre-installed with a General Events category which may be suitable for your needs, but if you wish to show multiple calendars with different sets of events on each, you will need additional categories.

To Add a New Category:
While in the BannerDate grip, click Categories > Add New in the top navigation, or click the Add New Category icon on the BannerDate dashboard's All Options tab. See Category Settings below.

To Modify an Existing Category:
While in the BannerDate grip, click Categories > Manage in the top navigation, or click the Manage Categories icon on the BannerDate dashboard's All Options tab. Then locate the appropriate category from the list and click Modify. See Category Settings below.

Category Settings

  • Name: Give the category a descriptive name to distinguish what types of events the category will contain. This is for admin use only and is not displayed on the website.
  • Font Family, Font Style, Font Size, Font Color: These settings allow you to customize the font styles of the event display. If none are chosen, the event display will use the website's default font styles.
  • Display Page: ???

Advanced Options

  • Display Entry Layout: This contains the raw HTML used to display event details. The HTML contains markers which fill in the relevant event data
