Have Fun... Build a Future

Have Fun... Build a Future

"It's more fun to build a future - not just polish the past."
- Frank Vizzare

The first half of 2011 has been a very exciting time of life for me in both my personal and professional lives. There have been significant achievements that have helped shape my future, which I've been enjoying building over the past few years. I find that, although this time of my life has been trying at times, it has very much been exciting and rewarding as well.

BannerView.com has recently started its first round of outside equity financing, while at the same time securing a Chief Marketing Officer in Pamela Joy Ring. Additionally, BannerView.com has secured a General Sales Manager in Robert Orgill and has started on a path to position the company as a national player once our local operations have been refined to handle the continued growth. With 20 full-time employees and growing, there's a lot of hard work ahead, but the possibilities are endless.

I don't find it too coincidental that my personal life has seen the same kind of growth, while not in employees of course, but rather in positioning for continued growth. With the purchase of my first home, my first marriage (and only!) and a puppy, we're setup for the inevitable future additions to our own team. Looking back, there may be a few decisions I could tweak here and there, but as the quote says, it's no fun to try and polish the past, but rather more fun to build a future. This time, right now, is the time of my life!

As I've attested time and time again, while there can be distinct separation between your personal and professional lives, often times the movements will mimic one another. Be prepared when things get tough to take it on in all aspects of your life, but ride the wave when things are going well and see how far it can carry you professionally and personally!
