BannerBeat: Create & Modify Entries

All entries belong to a category. Entries in the same category are displayed together in a blog listing.

To Add a New Entry:
While in the BannerBeat grip, click Entries > Add New in the top navigation, or click the Add New Entry icon on the BannerBeat dashboard's All Options tab. See Entry Settings below.

To Modify an Existing Entry:
While in the BannerBeat grip, click Entries > Manage in the top navigation, or click the Manage Entries icon on the BannerBeat dashboard's All Options tab. Next, locate the entry you wish to modify and click on View. See Entry Settings below.

Entry Settings

  • Category: Choose the appropriate category for your entry.
  • Layout: Choose the appropriate layout for your entry.
  • Title: Give your entry a descriptive title.
  • Summary: Enter a short description about the entry that can be displayed in the blog listing.
  • Use Summary in Place of Meta Description: Check this box if you would like to use the summary text as the meta description.
  • Meta Description: Enter a short description about the content of the entry, this is useful to search engines.
  • Meta Keywords: Enter keywords relating to the content of the entry, this is useful to search engines.
  • Meta Keyword Optimization: Choose an option to determine what to do with the keywords added in the Meta Keywords field.
  • Search Engine Friendly: The last part of the url to the entry.
  • Tags: Words that are related to the content of the entry, can be used to group entries together.
  • Custom Picture: Choose a picture that relates to the entry. This will replace the Default Picture that was chosen in the Category Settings.
  • Custom Author: Enter the person who wrote the entry. This will replace the Default Author that was entered in the Category Settings.
  • Custom Author Link: Enter the url to the author's page. This will replace the Default Author Link that was entered in the Category Settings.
  • Publish Date: Choose the date and time when the entry will be published to the website.
  • Text: Enter the content of your entry, including text, images, videos, links and other HTML content.
  • Insert Dynamic Content: You can use this to add content to your entry, such as content from the media library and other markers.

To Import Entries from a RSS Feed:
While in the BannerBeat grip, click the Import Entries (RSS) icon on the BannerBeat dashboard's All Options tab. See Import Entries (RSS) Settings below.

Import Entries (RSS) Settings

  • Category: Choose the appropriate category for your entries to import to.
  • Layout: Choose the appropriate layout for your imported entries to display in.
  • URL: Enter the URL of the RSS feed.
